Tis the Season to Joyride - Canada's Indoor Bike Park Is Open for Riding!

Thompson Educational's resident cyclist Linda Shin checked out the much anticipated indoor bike park this weekend. Here's what she has to say...

Cyclists groan every winter of having to either ride stationary for mind-numbing indoor riding, store the bikes away once the cold looms in, or head south for warm weather riding. Well, look no further, this past weekend was the grand opening of Joyride 150 - an indoor all-season cycling wonderland!

Joyride 150 is Canada's first indoor bike park that caters to cyclists of various disciplines and riding abilities. Located in Markham, Ontario, just north of Toronto, there is over 90,000 square feet of sweet indoor riding space.

The park features a cross country loop with rock gardens, log overs, and climbs; BMX style street park with quarter pipes, spines, and rails; big air ramps; foam pit; and much much more. It's an awesome space for beginner to pro cyclists, with lots of different features that will challenge and test your skills and help you progress to the next level. Coming soon to the park will be a spin studio, coaching services, skills workshops, races/competitions, and demo days.

Bring your students in for a field trip - Joyride 150 will give you and your students an opportunity to try cycling at a completely different level without worrying about cars or trees! You can rent BMX's, dirt jumpers, and mountain bikes, along with helmets and padding.

You don't have to be an avid cyclist to appreciate all the cool features at Joyride. With such a vast space and all the different terrain, the bike park is a great place to learn tricks, hone in on technical skills, and to simply push pedals and have fun for all ages.
