PHE Canada just posted a useful link to information on a new Nutrition Facts Education Campaign developed by Health Canada and Food and Consumer Products of Canada.
The campaign is designed to help Canadians make healthier food choices through a better understanding of the Nutrition Facts Table included on product packaging.

Activity Idea with Interactive Teaching ToolsA great in-class activity would be to make photocopies of various Nutrition Facts tables from similar food items and have your students use the fact sheet to determine which product is the healthier food choice.
In addition, the website includes links to several online interactive tools that can be used as further instruction and might be fun for your students to use in this activity.

PHE Canada just published the latest edition of the "In Touch" Newsletter. The feature article of this month's issue includes information about a great new resource called "Promising Practices."
Developed in partnership with PHE Canada and Ever Active Schools, the resource includes a searchable database where educators can search for ideas for Weight of the World projects and programs. In addition, there is also a link where educators can submit their own ideas.
What a great way to get schools healthy and active!
